A Rhode Island man has been convicted in the grisly murder of 81-year-old Constance Gauthier, who was found stabbed more than 60 times in her home in 2016, the attorney general said Thursday.

A man was found guilty Wednesday of killing an 81-year-old Woonsocket woman nearly nine years ago. Matthew Dusseault, 27, was convicted of murder in the stabbing death of Constance Gauthier. He was arrested two years after Gauthier’s body was discovered inside her Woonsocket home in March 2016.

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — A man accused of murdering an 81-year-old Woonsocket woman in 2016 will be on trial Tuesday. Matthew Dusseault previously pleaded not guilty to the murder of Constance Gauthier in March of 2016. Gauthier’s body was found in her home after her neighbor told police he saw her body through a window.
