A second person has died after a car plunged into a creek in Lemont Wednesday morning, the Will County Sheriff's Office said.

Illinois State Police said three vehicles were involved in the crash — the garbage truck and two passenger vehicles.

The Will County Sheriff’s Office said the accident occurred in Lemont, near 135th and Archer. It’s unclear what caused the incident, but law enforcement found the vehicle had veered off the road and was submerged in the pond.
