Yosemite was placed under an updated winter storm watch by the National Weather Service on Saturday at 4:47 a.m. The watch is valid from Sunday 5 p.m. until Monday, Mar. 17 at 11 p.m.

A winter storm watch was issued by the NWS Hanford CA on Saturday at 2:25 a.m. valid from Sunday 5 p.m. until Monday 11 p.m. The watch is for Yosemite, Upper San Joaquin River, Kaiser to Rodgers Ridge,

The mega storm hitting the central U.S. on Friday will catch Minnesota on the northern end, bringing heavy snow and blizzard conditions to the west of the state, and possibly severe thunderstorms to the south and the Twin Cities.

Yosemite is the focus of an updated winter storm watch issued at 4:31 a.m. on Monday by the National Weather Service. The watch is valid from Tuesday 11 p.m. until Thursday, Mar. 13 at 11 p.m.

The NWS Reno NV released a winter storm watch at 2:05 p.m. on Friday valid from Sunday 5 p.m. until Monday 11 p.m. for Lake Tahoe.

Counties included in the severe thunderstorm watch (the first of 2025 in Minnesota) include: Blue Earth, Dodge, Faribault, Fillmore, Freeborn, Houston, Jackson, Martin, Mower, Olmsted, Steele, Waseca, Watonwan, and Winona. The watch is in effect until 1 a.m. Saturday.
