Texas women's basketball defeated TCU 58-47 Monday to move to its first NCAA Tournament Final Four appearance since 2003.

It was enough to hold off a late TCU rally and send Texas back to the Final Four for the first time since 2003 with a 58-47 victory in the Birmingham Region 3 final Monday night. Texas Coach Vic Schaefer said he walks past a banner for that 2003 Final Four run every day.

Texas’ stifling defense controlled the momentum early, slowing down TCU’s Hailey Van Lith-led attack in an Elite Eight matchup Monday. The Longhorns defeated the Horned Frogs 58-47, reaching the women’s Final Four for the first time since 2003.
