Terrorists in explosive vests have reportedly threatened Pakistan train passengers' lives if officials refuse to release imprisoned militants.

Pakistani authorities on Wednesday said an insurgent attack on a train carrying hundreds of people had ended, with all attackers killed following a daylong standoff.

Baloch separatist militants blew up a railway track and launched rockets at the Jaffar Express, which was carrying over 400 passengers.

Nearly 200 have been freed but the status of other passengers remains unclear as security forces continue to battle separatist militants.
