Carlos Alcaraz has admitted a final against Jannik Sinner in Rome would be “challenging” as he waits to find out his Italian Open final opponent. The Spaniard booked his spot earlier today with a 6-3 7-6 win over Lorenzo Musetti, and will play the winner of the clash between the world No.1 and Tommy Paul.

Carlos Alcaraz beat Lorenzo Musetti 6-3, 7-6(4) in a sloppy duel Friday afternoon at the Foro Italico. He will face the winner of the second semifinal between Jannik Sinner and Tommy Paul in Sunday’s final.

Jasmine Paolini became the first Italian woman in more than a decade to reach the final of her home Italian Open when she beat American Peyton Stearns 7-5 6-1 on Thursday. Paolini is the first Italian to advance to the final in Rome since her doubles partner Sara Errani lost to Serena Williams in 2014.
