Hours after the shooting, a 17-year-old suspect turned himself in at the Lew Sterrett Justice Center in Dallas and was booked into Dallas County jail at 9:32 p.m., online records show. The teen was being held on an aggravated assault mass shooting charge with a $600,000 bond, according to records.

A suspect in a shooting at a Dallas high school that wounded four students and drew a heavy police response to the campus has been taken into custody, school district officials announced Tuesday night.

Dallas police responded just after 1 p.m. to a shooting incident reported at Wilmer-Hutchins High School, located at 5500 Langdon Road. One student told CBS News Texas that she heard seven gunshots. Authorities confirmed at around 2:20 p.m. there was no active threat and that the school campus had been secured.
