With Nvidia's RTX 5000 series launch on the horizon, it's easy to be tempted into buying the latest and (hopefully) the greatest, but Frame Generation could change that - it's not just being improved on RTX 4000 series GPUs and Team Green's latest Blackwell GPUs like the RTX 5090 (Multi Frame Generation), but potentially RTX 3000 GPUs as well.

Blender result puts NVIDIA's RTX 5090 graphics card at around a third faster than the RTX 4090, although the RTX 5090D is somewhat off that pace.

Nvidia has provided some more concrete performance estimates for its upcoming RTX 50-series graphics cards without DLSS turned on.

NVIDIA revealed new info surrounding its upcoming RTX 5000 GPUs, including non-DLSS performance. NVIDIA had one of the biggest announcements out of CES 2025, revealing its new 50-series RTX graphics cards. The new GPUs came with some bold claims, including RTX 5070 performance that could match the RTX 4090's power for a fraction of the price.

The test was also a testament to the power of Nvidia’s upcoming multi-frame generation. With DLSS 4 and 4x frame generation enabled, as well as DLSS set to Performance, the RTX 5090 was hitting a whopping 290 fps and over 40ms of latency. This was with Nvidia’s Reflex 1, as Reflex 2 wasn’t available for this test.
