New York state is reeling from more than $360 million in cuts to public health, addiction, and mental health services, while NYC faces a more than $100 million loss and says it will be less prepared to respond to infectious disease outbreaks.

The suit says the Trump administration clawback of $11 billion will devastate health care programs in states, including New York.

Officials said the job losses were necessary even as New York and other states contest the funding cuts in court.
