Thousands are protesting in Mozambique’s capital and police are responding by firing tear gas and rubber bullets as weeks of post-election unrest continued in the southern African country.

Human rights groups say at least 18 people have been killed in the police crackdown on protests since the Oct. 9 vote ... and advised its citizens against all but essential travel to Mozambique.
