Mercedes-AMG is developing a new high-performance, all-electric, groundbreaking off-roader-SUV in-house named Born in Affalterbach.

The electric AMG SUV will use the same AMG.EA platform as AMG's upcoming electric sedan, with prototypes undergoing initial testing this winter.

To date, Mercedes-AMG has built five standalone cars. That list is already set to expand to six when the sub-brand's new electric sedan debuts — but as it turns out, the Mercedes performance group won't stop there.
