Sanju hence became the first Indian to score back-to-back centuries in T20I as he smashed the fastest ton by an Indian batter against South Africa in the shortest format of the game.

Sanju Samson also went onto register the fastest hundred for India in T20Is, surpassing Suryakumar Yadav's record.
