The popular Keanu Reeves character will return in the upcoming film "John Wick: Chapter 5," Lionsgate announced during CinemaCon 2025 on Tuesday. Franchise director Chad Stahelski is slated to return to the film, as well as producers Basil Iwanyk and Erica Lee from Thuder Road to develop the film. Reeves will star and produce.

After years of speculation about the franchise’s future, John Wick: Chapter 5 is officially moving forward at Lionsgate. Keanu Reeves and director Chad Stahelski are both back for the feature, following the previous installment, which ended with the death of the titular assasin.

Speaking at CinemaCon about the film, Lionsgate Motion Picture Group head Adam Fogelson assured attendees that Reeves, Stahelski, Iwanyk, and Lee wouldn’t signed on “unless they had something truly phenomenal and fresh to say with these characters and this world,” according to IGN.
