Kevin Durant isn’t expected to play at all during the Phoenix Suns’ three-game trip after injuring his ankle in a 148-109 loss to the Houston Rockets on Sunday.

Mike Budenholzer helped lead the Bucks to the 2021 NBA championship, and he returns to Fiserv Forum as a visiting coach for the first time since being fired in 2023. Budenholzer, an Arizona native, is in his first season as the coach of the Suns.

It's been reported that the Phoenix Suns are likely to trade Kevin Durant this summer given their ongoing struggles and his reported unhappiness that they tried to move him before the Feb. 6 trade deadline. However, the door isn't fully closed on him staying in Phoenix next season.

Phoenix is currently 35–40, one game behind the Sacramento Kings for 10th place in the Western Conference, and the team’s slim hopes of making the playoffs were dealt a serious blow on Monday when Kevin Durant was ruled out for at least a week with an ankle injury.

Most people around the NBA believe Kevin Durant and the Phoenix Suns will part ways this offseason since the future Hall of Famer was reportedly almost traded at this year's trade deadline. However, according to Logan Murdock of The Ringer, Durant is "open" to remaining with the Suns.
