The bad news for the National League Central team is it announced it placed Ian Happ on the 10-day injured list because of a left oblique strain. However, the good news was that it called up highly regarded prospect Moisés Ballesteros in a corresponding move.

During Happ's absence, the Cubs have turned to starting Seiya Suzuki, Pete Crow-Armstrong, and Kyle Tucker in the outfield, with Justin Turner at DH.
