Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has directed two rescue planes be sent immediately to Amsterdam following “a very violent incident” targeting Israelis citizens, his office said on Friday, after attacks linked to a football game were reported.

Israeli soccer fans were attacked in a “serious incident of violence in Amsterdam” overnight into Friday, authorities said, with the Israeli government saying it was sending planes to evacuate affected citizens.
