It would be helpful for me to plan my time in Cape Town to know 1. How long does the guided tour take? 2. Approximately how much time might it take to see the whole site? Note the link on the Castle website to book does not work!

We didn’t do a guided tour just walked around Took about an hour and a half Easy to walk around yourself but the tour apparently gives you the story and history behind everything
I will be in Cape Town in August for a week. I know the castle is home to the Cape Town Highlanders and I wanted to know when the boys attend for their parade. I know they wear the Gordon tartan and as a former soldier in Australia who served in a Scottish Regiment who also wore the Gordon colours I would like to see them.
